Stray / For Those Who Know

A 2 track house single (12m 6s) — released June 25th 2012 on Bodywork Music

As the British summer hots up so does the Body Work release schedule as we welcome London's Firas to our ever-growing family. Following on from critically acclaimed releases by Waze & Odyssey and LPZ is no easy job but with 'Stray / For Those Who Know' Firas has delivered the goods, 2 tracks of inspired house music that we jumped on the minute we first heard the demos.

Kicking off with 'Stray', the kind of no messing club track that we set up Body Work specifically to release, Firas takes the simplest of ingredients and with a magic touch conjures up something special. Teasing us with just tight percussion and hints of bass, the track explodes into life half way through with one of the basslines of the summer, the result one of those tracks that you feel as much as hear.

On the flip the Mark Ralph produced 'For Those Who Know' showcases another side of this talented artist as an explosion of 808 snaps, kicks and snares sets the scene for a filthy great bassline to steam roll over the track and inspire some serious shoulder leaning on the dancefloor.

Having already scored club hits this year with his DJ Only edit of Cassie's 'Just You' and remix of The 2 Bears (as Caze Nove with Jay Karim) this new release caps a meteoric rise that began at the tender age of 16 behind the counter of In The Groove Records in Loughborough, and has taken in DJ residencies up and down the land, a season misspent in Ibiza, and sets alongside DJ Superstars like Jamie Jones, LCD Soundsystem, Erol Alkan, Masters At Work at events such as Bestival, Snowbombing, Bugged Out & Kill Em All.

Currently running his own Roxy Parties, featuring the likes of Jackmaster, Spencer, Ben Westbeech, and Artwork and curating the Pagoda Stage at Secret Garden Party where over the past few years he's cajoled everyone from Skream, Annie Mac and Toddla T to Jamie Jones to play secret sets, Firas is also putting the finishing touches to the debut Caze Nove LP with Mark Ralph (Hot Chip / Franz Ferdinand), due later this year.
